Bainbridge Island Historical Society is the resource for researching the island’s history. They have a rotating exhibit gallery, a research library and monthly programs.

Bainbridge Island Library is a great place to do research with free wifi Internet access and a knowledgeable helpful staff.

Family History Center Libraries This center has the ability to order ($) any of the films and fiche available through the FamilySearch Catalog in Salt Lake City and access ancestry.com and other premium databases.

Fiske Genealogical Foundation in Madison Park has a large library for members and guests ($) which includes many books on New England. Fiske also hosts regular classes.

Jefferson County Genealogical Society Nearby genealogical society with regular meetings, speakers and a research facility (in Port Townsend).

Jewish Genealogical Society of Washington State Helping people find their Jewish roots, with monthly meeting with guest lecturers and workshops at the Stroum Jewish Community Center of Greater Seattle on Mercer Island.

National Archives Pacific Alaska Region on Sand Point Way in Seattle has records from Federal agencies and courts in Idaho, Oregon, and Washington.

Olympic College, with campuses in Bremerton, Pouslbo and Shelton, offers Community Patron accounts for residents of Kitsap and Mason Counties. This allows you free onsite access to journal databases, thousands of eBooks, books to check out and even InterLibrary Loan.

Puget Sound Genealogical Society Nearby genealogical society with extensive research library, located at Kitsap Regional Library’s Genealogical Research Center.

Seattle Chapter of the Washington State Society of the Sons of the American Revolution is a genealogical society with members having to prove their lineage to a Patriot of the American Revolutionary War.

Seattle Genealogical Society lending library available to members and guests ($), located on Sand Point Way, Seattle.

Seattle Public Library has Genealogy and History collections at the Central Library in downtown Seattle. They also have genealogy classes.

Surrey Public Library, Cloverdale Branch has extensive resources for researching Canadian genealogy pertaining to the 16th through the early 20th centuries, with the majority of records covering the latter half of the 19th Century. Located a half hour over the border in Cloverdale, Surrey, British Columbia.

Washington State Genealogical Society is a good genealogy resource for local, state and national information on research and events.
